20 November, Dubai – There was more glory for the XDubai team on Friday afternoon as Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi took top honours in the Dubai Duty Free Speed Cat Run. That’s after defeating T-Bone Station (Giovanni Carpitella and Luca Fendi) in the final head-to-head showdown of the day.

XCAT, short for extreme catamaran, is one of the most challenging and extreme forms of powerboat racing in the world. XCAT racing truly is a spectacle of speed with teams of two taking each other on in twin-engined, carbon-fibre boats that tear around the course at speeds close to 200km/hr at Dubai International Marine Club on November 20, 2015 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  (Photo by Warren Little/Getty Images for XCAT)XDubai had reached the final by defeating Swecat (Mikael Bengtsson and Erik Stark) in the opening round before getting the better of Six (Tomaso Polli and Matteo Nicolini) in the second.

They then went on to beat Team Abu Dhabi in the semifinal. T-Bone Station, meanwhile, has defeated Lady Spain (Shaun Torrente and Jay Price) in the first round, Dubai (Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali) in the second and Yachts (Francois Pinelli and Saul Bubacco) in their semifinal.

Abu Dhabi beat Yachts in the race-off for third place. XCAT action continues tomorrow with the Dubai GP scheduled for 2pm at Dubai International Marine Club. Entry for the general public is free of charge.
