Mayor Tom Tate joined Tom Barry-Cotter on Saturday and was absolutely thrilled with how the boat looked.

“We’ve got passion, speed and a fabulous looking boat and although I don’t want to put too much pressure on Tom, to me that adds up to victory!

“I encourage all Gold Coasters to get down to the Broadwater from August 21 – 23 to see the excitement of XCAT racing and Australia’s Gold Coast XCAT in action,” said Mayor Tate.

GC2Australia’s Gold Coast XCAT driver, Barry-Cotter will be joined in the cockpit by veteran powerboat driver and ex-SuperCat world champion Ross Willaton.

Barry-Cotter and Willaton won the 2009 Australian Offshore Superboat title and will be a very powerful Gold Coast team to take on the world next month.
