The new deal, which was celebrated in spectacular fashion today at Emaar’s flagship mega-development Downtown Dubai, billed as ‘The Centre of Now,’ anchored by Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building – sees Emaar coming on board as Main Sponsor of the Series for an initial three years. “It is a great pleasure to welcome Emaar into the XCAT family,” said WPPA Vice President Dr Khalid Al Zahed. “Theirs is a name that is synonymous with excellence and impressive achievement, not only in the UAE but globally. And we feel this is a fantastic match with the UIM XCAT World Series, where the teams strive for dominance on the world stage. “We look forward to a long and productive partnership,” added Al Zahed. Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director, Emaar Properties, said: “Since its inception, Emaar Properties has been supporting Dubai’s repertoire of world-class events, underlining the city’s positioning as the ultimate events destination. We are delighted to extend our support to the UIM XCAT World Series.” Emaar has been shaping landscapes and lives in the Emirates since the company’s inception in 1997. The company specialises in creating value-added, master-planned communities that meet the full spectrum of lifestyle needs. Apart from the UAE Emaar also has a significant presence in several key global markets with established operations in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, India, Pakistan, Turkey, USA and Canada. Action in the 2013 UIM XCAT World Series is set to resume at the end of August, with several international races planned, before racing returns to the UAE in December. Dubai-based Fazza still leads the series standings with 830 points from the three heats so far, with Mouawad 50 second on 671 and Gabon 33 third on 525.
