3 July 2014, Dubai – Organisers of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series have announced that Cascais, Portugal will no longer host the fifth round of the Series. “Unfortunately a number of unforeseen and unavoidable factors have led to the regrettable decision to call off the event in Cascais, Portugal which was scheduled for 1-3 August,” said Dr Khalid Al Zahed, Vice President of the WPPA – organisers and promoters of the Series. “Logistically, the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series is a massive operation and unfortunately it has come to our attention that it will simply not be possible to hold the fifth round of the season in Portugal as planned. “We sincerely hope that we will be able to host an event in Cascais in the not-too-distant future as the interest shown has been phenomenal.” The fifth round of the 2014 Series will now take place in Ningbo, China from 3 – 5 October with the sixth round also being contested in China – this time in Hailing Island from 31 October - 2 November. XCAT action will then return to Dubai for the final round from 11-13 December. Meanwhile, after a fourth consecutive win in Stresa, Italy last weekend, Fazza (Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi) remain the runaway leaders of the Series with 1600 points. Dubai (Salem Al Adidi and Jay Price) are second on 789 points and Italians T-Bone Station (Luca Fendi and Giovanni Carpitella) are third on 620.
