New boat could make Victory Team even quicker at Chinese Grand Prix

Salem Al Adidi and Talib Al Sayed will be sporting a brand new boat at the sixth leg of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series in China this weekend. The duo had hearts racing when they flipped their boat in the previous round of the Series in Arona, Italy but emerged unscathed and even more determined to reach the podium in Ningbo from November 8-10. Speaking about the incident, which took place shortly after the second race start (after Consul Brokers had flipped at the first start), Al Sayed explained: “During the moment, we were conscious about what was happening and I realised that our race has finished. But that kind of thing doesn’t affect you going forward due to experiencing more severe situations. We had only minor injuries that were cured within a short time. “It is part of the game and this keeps on motivating us and pushes us forward to do better.” The Victory Team boat (currently fourth in the overall Series standings) claimed their inaugural Speed Cat Run win in Arona and were second in the race for Pole Position, proving just how fast their boat was. And ominous news for their rivals is that their newly constructed boat could be even quicker. “We have already built a new replacement boat to substitute the crashed boat with similar feature or even better than the crashed 33 boat,” explained Al Sayed. “We are expecting a competitive and exciting race in China due to it being the last quarter of the Series. “We are confident in ourselves, the boat, the team and the management who are supporting us significantly,” he added, also pointing to the rivalry within the Victory Team stable (between themselves, Fazza and Skydive Dubai – rebranded as Baia Blu D’Oriente for the China race) as a great motivator. “It is obvious that there is a competitive spirit between us however we have the same aim of winning the championship and so rely on our teamwork effort.” The sixth round of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series will take place in Ningbo, China from November 8-10.
